Team Martinelli loses another high profile player
DECEMBER 29 Panama -The third high profile resignation in the Martinelli Administration during December was announced today.
Minister of the Presidency, Jimmy Papadimitriu said that the state's Communications Secretary, Alfredo Prieto, resigned from the post he has held since the government of Ricardo Martinelli came to power in 2009.
Papadimitriu said changes to the Martinelli team will be made, but, not in the ministerial ranks.
Prieto apparently resigned on Dec. 4 and will be in office until tomorrow morning. The reason given was “to attend to personal business.”
Earlier in the month Panama’s Ambassador to the U.S. resigned suddenly and on Christmas Eve, Guiseppe Bonnissi, the acting Attorney General resigned in the midst of a corruption scandal with allegations that organized crime had infiltrated the Public Ministry.
