New start date for metro buses and later bus stops

Panama’s Metro Bus system, like city traffic,  is moving at a stop and go pace towards becoming operational and fully functional.

The rains in Panama and Colombia delayed the shipping of the buses that had been scheduled to start  running on December 18.

The first service on the Corridor Sur is now predicted for December 28, in time for the new year. 120 buses will be put into service,
The prepaid card system, held up by snafus in the bidding process will follow later. How much later is uncertain, but July has been mentioned.
. On Wednesday (December 15) four groups bidding for the contract submitted their proposals to become financial managers of the system for the next 10 years.

In January tenders for the construction of bus stops on the south corridor route will be opened.
