Panama anti-drug youth program earns award

A Panama White Cross program to prevent or reduce drug use among children and adolescents has received international recognition.

 The  award was presented by Queen Silvia of Sweden to acknowledge the efforts of  "Jóvenes construyendo un mundo mejor" (Youth building a better world) in fighting drug use among young people.
The program, coordinated in Colon by Calixta Balmaceda, aims to create youth leaders, who spread the message from their schools to the local communities to stay away from drugs.
