Expensive times ahead for traffic violators

November 15 is pay day for thousands of Panamanians. It could also be the determining day for the national transportation agency' s plan to use the big stick on traffic violators.

The agency’s director, Jorge Ricardo Fábrega has promised heftier fines all round for traffic offences and  traffic authorities  l will be meeting to review a bill heading for the Cabinet Council before year end.

"We will meet to determine the amount of the increase," said Fabrega.

It could be a gloomy New Year for drivers who like to park on the yellow grid lines at intersections  when they are asked to pay fines up to $200.
