Panama’s Immigration revolving door
They sneak them in and they kick them out, but Panama's immigration workers are kept busy.
Right behind the news that a network of immigration officials, allegedly headed by the security chief has been sneaking Chinese workers into Panama to become local slaves, comes a report that the Immigration Department has spent more than $320,000 to repatriate people found living in Panama illegally this year.
Officials have deported 561 foreigners for various immigration violations, including entering the country illegally and overstaying their visas.
According to the agency, 63 foreigners were deported in September, while in August there were 55 deportations. Most of the people deported were Colombian and Nicaraguan.
