Lack of condom use in Panama increasing risk of HIV/AIDS
Panama is in line with other countries in Central America where there is an increasing risk of sexually transmitted disease particularly HIV/AIDS.
A recently completed survey in Panama,El Salvador, Honduras and Nicaragua revealed that of 2,154 sexually active people only 30 percent used a condom when having sex.
In Panama 25 percent of men and 30 percent of women said they use condoms part of the time.
The results of the study, conducted between 2005 and the beginning of 2010, were presented this month in El Salvador.
