Tourists stranded as Indigenous workers battle police in Bocas del Toro

Continuing battles between striking workers and police got off to an early start in Changuinola, Bocas del Toro.on Saturday after talks between government representatives, indigenous people and farm workers.
The strike by workers of the Bocas Fruit Company entered its 10th day. Workers are demanding repeal of Bill 30, better known as the 9 in one law, which has led to growing protests across the country and a looming general strike

The two main streets of the city of Changuinola are guarded by riot police and a police helicopters is patrolling the area.

Shops remain closed. and a group of tourists is stranded with no transportation to take them to the border with Costa Rica.
