What the papers say: Lack of public trust
La Prensa. Hoy por Hoy, June 5
The Attorney General’s Office is the official body that pursues crime. It is assumed therefore that prosecutors should demonstrate exemplary personal behavior,
or at least do not go against their own functions. The case of the prosecutor involved in a crash with a truck two weeks ago revealed, in contrast, little or no interest from his superiors in having people worthy of public trust.
The official collided with a car in early hours of the morning, after hours of playing in a card tournament in a tournament which the organizers. Denied. He was driving in a comfiscated drug car and left the scene of the accident and Transit police could not perform a breatherlyser test.To make matters worse,he brought out a gun, while announcing that he was a prosecutor. Is this the behavior we want from an official? He could be fired for this shameful act, but his superiors have rewarded him with a transfer. He has not even had the grace to resign. That is our prosecutor.
