Transit authority short of inspectors
Panama’s transportation authority does not have enough inspectors to monitor carriers, usually referred to as diablos rojos.
Ricardo Jorge Fabrega, Vice Minister of Government and Justice, ans director of the Transit Authority (ATTT), was speaking on radio station KW Continente
"We do not have the number of inspectors we wanted to respond to complaints from users," Fabrega said on the program "The Character of the Week."
He added that next year’s budget is looking for the addition of more traffic inspectors, because it is expected that more road infrastructure projects will be launched which will further complicate traffic in the capital.
