Census results on black ancestry question unreliable

The coordinator of "Orgullosamente Afrodecendiente" (Proud African descendant) Eunice Meneses says that the results of the 2010 Census are not reliable, when they concern Panamanians of Afro-Caribbean descent.
In the absence of certain indicators, Meneses proposes a complementary survey, or including the question in the household survey that is conducted every year. She acknowledges that this procedure is not like a census but it wouldsat least come closer to a more reliable figure.
Meneses said on TVN Channel 2 that the Comptroller had no political interest in supporting the campaign of African-American self-recognition. She reiterated that many of the enumerators did not follow the instructions and didn’t ask the question to all people.
