Former comptroller ready to speak out about ex-president

Panama’s former Comptroller Alvin Weeden says he is ready to testify about everything he knows in the case involving CEMIS-and the three organs of state Says La Prensa.
He believed that judicial authorities should investigate former president Mireya Moscoso.

"She and all the members that his administration negotiated with Martin Rodin," said Weeden.

The comptroller referred directly to the former Trade Minister Joaquin Jacome and former director of the Free Zone Jorge Fernandez.

He also criticized the Financial Analysis Unit (UAF) for ceasing its investigation of the movements of bank accounts Consorcio San Lorenzo, and Moscoss legislators and government officials.

"Now they should be more willing [to investigate] because none of the two parties (Mireya Moscoso, Martín Torrijos) dominates the UAF (…) That is also why I am speaking now, because these are the conditions to investigate," he said.

Weeden says he’s never agreed with the project CEMIS and certainly not alleged pay offs.
