Oldies opens with a flourish for the young at heart
They arrived by the score –young of heart, mind ,or years and all lovers of the music of the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s that filled the air and the screens for the official opening of Oldies.
They started arriving at 6 p.m. on Thursday (February 25) and were still driving up to the door at 11 to be greeted by host Dan Rosen and his sons, and served food from the already renowned menu that in the last month has created a strong following of regulars. So while the Beegees, a younger Madonna, a pre-teen Michael Jackson and other stars of the past chanted and performed , glasses of what you fancied (on the house of course) were raised to celebrate what will surely become an icon in the Panama entertainment and dining scene.
Among the guests was tourism chief Salomon Shamah, who took time off from a tight schedule to attend the opening bash before heading to Israel and Qatar with President Ricardo Martinelli, Vice-President and Foreign Minister Juan Carlos Varela.
If you were one of the fortunate celebrants you may find your photo by going to our image gallery (click here).
If you were not there, take a look at the pictures anyhow, as something tells me they will be back, and you will have the chance to say "hello" when you pop by. It will be worth the visit.
Oldies is on Calle 39, Bella Vista, on the road leading from Avenida Balboa (just before the former American Embassy) to the National Hospital on Cuba.
Valet parking is available.{jathumbnail off}
