Prince completes Panama visit
Britain’ Prince Andrew, Duke of York, completed a two day whirlwind tour of Panama on Tuesday with visits to Miraflores, and the former Howard military base.
In his role as envoy for the development of commerce and investment , he met with President Ricardo Martinelli, Vice-President Juan Carlos Varela, Commerce and Industry Minister Roberto Henriques and Alberto Vallarino Minister of Economy and Finance.
He was briefed on the Canal Expansion and the Howard development which is in the hands of a British company. He also met with the heads of other British Companies like, HSBC and Cable and Wireless.
The Prince was accompanied by British Ambassador Richard Austen.
He arrived in Panama on Sunday evening and went straight from the airport to inaugurate the new residence of the Ambassador.
