My knees bend only to God suspended Attorney General
The knees of suspended Attorney General, Ana Matilde Gomez bend only to God, she affirmed on Friday and said that resigning would be taking the easy way out.
Soon after, she received official notification of her suspension by the Supreme Court, a decision that has caused widespread criticism and controversy. She immediately requested a review of the decision
Gomez for whom there was a public rally organized by the leaders of the Civilistas who fought against Former Dictator Manuel Noriega, said she cannot resign because that would be an easy way out: “Even if this might mean an unjust and politically imposed sentence of imprisonment," she said.
She added that she believed in the rule of law and the absolute separation of powers, referring to the suspension ordered by the Supreme Court.
Gomez protested the violations of her rights and said: "Jail is not a matter of courage but of evidence, and not constructed tests, but evidence uncovered in the due process provided with resources."
