Public demonstration against Concentration of Power set for Wednesday

A public demonstration will be held in Panama on Wednesday to alert the country to the "concentration of power in Casco Viejo”, an allusion to President Ricardo Martinelli.

Aurelio Barria, who was a leader of the Civil Crusade, against the Dictatorship of Manuel wants to send a warning to President Ricardo Martinelli, "to reconsider and reflect" on recent developments that have occurred in the country.

Civic leaders have expressed concern over the seemingly politically inspired suspension of the Attorney General Ana Matilde Gomez by the Supreme Court, containing controversial Martinelli appointments-

Barria said the civilian crusade fought from 1987 against the military dictatorship that controlled the power from Avenue A and warned that the concentrations of power are a danger to the smooth running of the country.

The protest meeting will be in Parque Porras, starting at 4 p.m.
