90-day window to register firearms
OWNERS of an unregistered firearm have a 90 day window to set the record straight or face seizure of their weapons.
Panama’s Ministry of Public Security has published an executive decree
in the Official Gazette, saying that persons with unregistered firearms will have 90 days to apply for a permit. The applications must be accompanied by paperwork showing that the weapon was purchased legally.
Once the 90-day period expires, any unregistered firearm will be subject to seizure by the police.
