Solaris de la Luna Barba won the Miss Universe Panama contest on Wednesday night, May 25, at the Gladys Vidal Theater, located in the Hatillo building.

Solaris Barba had participated in 2018 in the Miss Panama pageant, in which she ranked second, and attended the Miss World contest, where she won the distinction of Miss World America.

Solaris tearfully said that it was not easy for her to make the decision to compete again, but she promised to be a participant who generates changes.

This year's international pageant does not yet have a specific date or venue.

The selection process began a few months ago and as part of the contest, 10 semifinalists were chosen to Wednesday in the final event.
