Virus death toll at 159 in 47 days
TWO-HUNDRED new cases of coronavirus were announced on Saturday, April 25, the 47th day of its arrival in Panama.
That brings the total of cases in the country to 5,338 and to date 159 people have died.
The Health Ministry (Minsa) reports that 4,696 patients remain in home isolation and 1,646 are in “hospital hotels .” 345 people are hospitalized, of which 260 are in wards and 85 in Intensive Care Units
338 people have recovered according to the results of laboratory tests (19 new ones) and another 2 424 have recovered clinically.
To date, 25,400 COVID-19 tests have been performed: 76.3% have been negative and 23.7% positive.
