Five new cases of monkeypox in the Metropolitan region

 

The Ministry of Health (Minsa) reported on Friday, November 12, five new cases of monkeypox bringing the total date to 26.                                                                    

The new cases correspond to the male sex, between the ages of 29 to 47 years, and come from the Metropolitan Health Region. For this reason, the health team of the Metropolitan Region is carrying out field investigations in r to determine the close contacts of these cases and offering them vaccination against monkeypox to cut the chain of transmission.

Transmission of monkeypox can occur through skin lesions, respiratory and body fluids from one infected person to another; also through infected clothing or any surface that has had contact with the lesions.

since May 24, Panama has maintained a health alert due to monkeypox and epidemiological surveillance has been redoubled at all points of entry into the national territory.
