Star line up for 13th Panama Jazz Festival,

THE PANAMA JAZZ FESTIVAL 2016  will bring another star studded cast to the 13th edition of one of Panama’s flagship events from January 11 through 16..

 Over the years it has become not only a Mecca for Jazz lovers but also a must-visit event for tourists and the local glitterati.
The events founder and celebrated jazz musician and professor, Danilo Perez has announced that Panamanians pianist Randy Weston will be the artist that will be honored this year.
Weston, hasinfluenced the history of experimental African  jazz and spread the tradition worldwide for over 60 years.
His presence was confirmed by Perez at a press conference. Other performing artists include Danny Rivera, Rudresh Mahantappa, Dominique Eade, Dave Murray, Geri Allen, Terry Lyne Carrington, Dave Douglas and Tony Vega, Panamanian representation will include Joshue Ashby and C3, Reggie Johnson and Reggie Boyce, Lucy and The soul Brokers, Danilo Perez Foundation, Grupo Congo Generación Costeña and others that yet to confirm.
Concerts, educational activities, jam sessions and other events will take place in the City of Knowledge during the festival and  the Danilo’s Jazz club, in Plaza Herrera,  Casco Viejo, will host night time concerts and jam sessions.
The festival is also the most important audition center in Latin America for young people seeking admission and scholarships to music schools.
They can count on the presence of representatives of the Berklee Global Jazz Institute at Berklee College of Music, The New England Conservatory and Wayne State University.
