Stay away fom health centers Chiriqui residents told

Health officials in Chiriquí are warning residents to stay away from health centers unless they are in dire need.
The warning comes as part of a a call to take precautions against the spread of the flu virus in the area, which has already affected over 14,000 people.
In the first week of July alone, there were 3,269 cases reported, about six times more than the same week in 2009.
In the first seven months of 2009, there were a total of about 10,000 flu cases, this year around 14,100
Regional Director of the Ministry of Health José Castillo said that officials have been unable to distribute enough flu vaccines in remote areas, which has allowed the virus to spread.
