Government-indigenous talks making progress
“Significant progress” has been made in the ongoing dialogue between the government and representatives of Panama’s indigenous community meeting at eh UN offices in Clayton.
The news came in a statement read by Catholic priest Eusebio Munoz. The statement gave no details of th progress but said that the meetings took place "in a constructive atmosphere of respect and harmony. The talks were set to resume on Monday with two technical committees getting together, one to discuss in item No. 5 of the draft Bill No. 415 and the other the Barro Blanco Hydroelectric Project. By agreement none of the parties involved made comments to the media.
