Panama goalkeeper between the posts for LA Galaxy

PANAMA’S stand out goalkeeper during the Concacaf Gold Cup Competition, when Panama lost 1-0 in the final to the United States, is now guarding the net for the LA Galaxy.

Jaime Penedo made his first appearance for the Major League Soccer Club, recently the home of England superstar David Beckham on Sunday.

He earned good reviews according to the team's website which said Penedo looked good and coach Bruce Arena will have to take account of his performance when considering the current starter Carlo Cudicini.
Penedo’s debut was against Salt Lake City, which Galaxy won 4-2. Arena said : "My reason for starting with Jaime was because I thought it was the best decision and wanted to see him with the team … He had a good game. He was not tested much, but it was solid,".
Defense player Dunivat Todd, who said Penedo performed well: "His presence back there kept us calm. I could not understand a word of what he was saying. But other than that, not bad, "
Penedo said "Sure there were nerves. This is a great challenge for me and wanted to do well, "said Penedo, after the game that his team won by a score of 4-2.
Penedo was listed as the likely starter for the Tuesday night game against the Carthaginia of Costa Rica in the Concacaf Champions League.
