Four new appointments to Team Varela

Rolando De Leon de Alba who will take over as CEO of the National Bank of Panama (BNP ) is one of four new appointments announced by President-elect, Juan Carlos Navarro on Wednesday, June 4.

All four will be installed on July 1.

De León de Alba worked at the BNP and was ex-commissioner of securities. He is currently Vice President of Operations and Treasury at Metrobank and director of the Banking Association of Panama.
Cardiologist Jorge Motta, former director of the Gorgas Memorial Institute, will lead the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Technology and Innovation ( Senacyt).
Alfredo Fonseca Mora, a private aviation pilot, will head the Civil Aviation Authority.
Yesenia Rodriguez will be the new director of the Institute for Training and Development of Human Resources ( IFARHU ) .
Rodriguez worked as principal administrative assistant principal at the Foreign Ministry when Varela was in charge.
Varela said he announce he will his security minister on Monday, June 9.
