Panama Immigration fairs under review

AS CONFLICTING opinions on the Martinelli inspired immigration fairs continue to be aired, Panama’ National Assembly has passed the hot to analyze a proposal which seeks to eliminate fairs that legalize the status of foreigners living in the country illegally.

There are fears that the fairs have opened the doors to potential criminals.
Deputy Pedro Miguel González, who chairs the Government Committee, said that it will expand consultations on the issue, which has generated a large number of differing opinions reports La Prensa
The PRD deputy said that the proposal will be studied calmly and that pressure from different sectors of the country will not impact the decision. The first committee meeting was attended by a number of officials from Immigration as well as the National College of Lawyers.
