TV journalist gets death threats
TELE METRO, morning news presenter Alvaro Alvarado, says he has received death threats on the social network Twitter.
The message, which came from a recently-created account ElSecuas said that the journalist would be killed near his house and his body left near the Corredor Norte reports La Prensa.
It is the only written message from that account.
The National College of Journalists has “categorically” rejected the threat and made an “urgent” call to Prosecutors to begin an inquiry.
The organization said original threats are Intended to silence critical voices of courageous and independent journalism, adding that it also threatens “the democratic regime of the country” The college will not tolerate under any circumstances the limiting of the free exercise of journalism,” it said.
