Search for bones of Dutch tourists suspended
EFFORTS to find more skeletal remains of two young Dutch women tourists in Alto Romero, Chiriqui have been suspended and the search team, including tracker dogs from Holland, has returned to David.
The team set out on Monday January 12 find more bones of Kris Kremers and Lisanne Froon and returned Friday after suspending the search in the mountainous region.
Jerome Van Passel, a spokesman for the families of the young Dutch girls, said that no bone pieces of the girls were found but “up there it is dangerous.” “There is a lot of moisture, as it is a rainforest,” he said
Kremers and Froon had traveled to the comunity of Boquete, in the province of Chiriqui, intending to learn Spanish and do social work, but disappeared when hiking along the Pianista trail
In June 2014 local indigenous people found backpack containing belongings of the young people, including cash and a cell phone on the banks of the Culibre river. After several searches prosecutors, found bones that belonged to the missing young women.
