Bomberos launch forest fire defense program

PANAMA’S Fire Department launched its annual campaign to keep the country free of forest fires on Sunday, January 18, the campaign. It calls on residents to avoid burning grassland or trees in the dry season 2015.

Bomberos (firefighters) explained that in recent years has increased there has been increased burning of grasslands) leading to more calls on the Department’s services.
To prevent such fires they recommend avoiding cleaning land using burning as a primary means . make sure to clear all the ashes and embers that may remain after performing outdoor activities, avoid waste deposit in areas of grasslands and burning, later in the year.
