Son of former Supreme Court judge named in school food scandal

THE SON OF a former Supreme Court Judge is the latest high profile “businessman”  to be named in connection with the National Assistance Program (PAN) scandal  involving overruns in the purchase of dehydrated food.

Sources of the Public Ministry told La Prensa that Winston Spadafora, son of the former judge of the same name, has been called in for questioning accused of offenses against public administration. He was allegedly a member of one of the companies that benefited from the contracts for the purchase of the food.

Earlier this week,anti-corruption prosecutor Ruth Morcillo conducted an inspection on the PAN offices in Bocas Del Toro to verify the receipt and distribution of bags of food as well as documentation relating to the process.
