Prequalification for building new bridge set to go

PANAMA’S CABINET   has  authorized the Ministry of Public Works (MOP) to undertake the prequalification of companies for the design and construction of the fourth bridge over the Panama Canal.

The bridge will directly benefit 500,000 living in Panama West, plus citizens traveling from Panama City to the interiorand will also include a rail link.

Minister of Public Works, Ramon Arosemena said that among the advantages of the  prequalification process is ensuring the participation of competent companies interested in building the project.

The bridge  will be built on the north side of the Bridge of the Americas and Its design will be similar to the Centennial Cable-stayed bridge.
