Speeding busito brings transit death toll to 393

A TAXI DRIVER was killed instantly on Sunday night at 12.30  by a speeding school  mini-bus whose driver lost control. According to Transit authorities alcohol was involved.

Earlier in the day protestors had marched in Panam tp protest the increasing road carnage.

The latest tragedy bring the total transit deaths this year to 393, and at the current pace  is set to pass the 400 mark by year end. The taxi  driver died  in Juan Diaz  at the San Pedro exit, the same location where two elderly sisters were killed in a multi  vehicle collision on Friday.

The bus driver suffered minor injuriesTransit authorities presume that excessive speed combined with alcohol intake could be the cause of the accident reports El Siglo.

Following  the collision, the Tocumen road was closed creating major  traffic congestion
