Summit Park getting major facelift
SUMMIT Municipal Park, in Ancón, is to get a $300,000 face lift starting in January the beginning of a master plan to boost the restoration of the iconic center, a major tourist attraction and day-trip destination for Panama City residents.
Director Edgar Araúz said that improvements will be made to the jaguar and puma areas, as well as that holding tapirs.
He said that the veterinary clinic, which serves about 200 species, will be also be remodeled.
The 55-hectare park, built in 1923, has 1,500 species of flora and fauna.
Authorities developing the master plan are being helped by international experts.
