CD call Centre scandal boss denied arrest immunity
THE FORMER director of Immigration Maria Cristina Gonzalez , accused of crimes against public administration, influence peddling, embezzlement and fraud while running a CD call center with National Assembly funds, has been denied immunity from arrest.
According to 13th Criminal Court 13th Criminal Court.Judge Carlos Castro, in research in research by the Second Anti-Corruption Prosecutor there is sufficient “serious” “evidence” against the ex-functionary.

The scandal came to light in the last election campaign, when Teran was working in the call center, supposedly run by the former head of Immigration and ex-viceminister of Internal Trade Luis Eduardo Camacho González, to campaign against opponents of the government of Ricardo Martinelli and to promote the image of then Democratic Change presidential candidate José Domingo Arias.
On October 24, 2015, the prosecution laid charges against Gonzalez, while Camacho was given country jail.
On December 1, 2015, the prosecution resumed the process, after electoral immunity was lifted from Gonzalez and Camacho.
