Time for  “reasonable reopening” without bureaucratic tangle

As  Panama’s population seeks to survive with informal activities, including crime The  Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Agriculture (Cciap), says the time has come for a reasonable re-opening without bureaucracy.

In its weekly message, the Chamber argues that the closure of companies, the consequent suspension of contracts and dismissals as a result of the quarantine are leading the population to carry out more informal activities. this makes it difficult to comply with sanitary measures and recovering formal activities will allow greater control.

The opening has to be removed from the bureaucratic tangle, which brings with it discretionary actions that end up generating arbitrariness; and that far from facilitating national recovery, they put more obstacles to business reactivation – especially small and medium-sized entrepreneurs – and therefore labor reactivation ” says the document.

It states that the private sector, in general, is prepared to operate in compliance with biosafety protocols, and “The time has come to open with reasonable precautionary measures that each employer, each worker, each citizen will have to adopt.”

We are all  called to have a responsible behavior, adhering to biosafety standards and private companies are committed to this objective says the Chamber

It adds that Panama cannot afford inaction at the cost of the loss of its most competitive advantages and achievements as a nation.
