Three arrests in Obarrio fatal street brawl

 

Three men were arrested on, Wednesday, March 22, for their alleged involvement in the death of 21-year-old Antonio ‘Anthony’ Batista, which occurred during a street brawl between Obarrio and Vía Argentina, on March 6.

Units of the National Police and officials of the Public Ministry , carried out a search procedure in the district of San Miguelito, where they arrested the three suspects’

‘Anthony’ died of a  head injury as a result of the blows he received from his attackers.

As part of the investigations, it was confirmed that a police officer witnessed the street fight.

 The uniformed man, who was off duty the day of the fight, gave a statement “of his participation in the events since he was with the aggressors at another point” until it reached the vicinity of the Hotel Sortis on Via Argentina.

The unit detailed everything that happened that night in Obarrio, provided the names of those involved, and also mentioned that when “they attacked the victims, he decided not to intervene, and only when one of the people , close to the victim , came to the victim’s defense that he intervened.
