Director of Aeronaval Service training center suspended

 

Didier Santamaría, director of the Higher Institute of the National Aeronaval Service   (Senan), was removed from office after six cadets fell ill after undergoing arduous training that sent them to the hospital.

Juan Manuel Pino, Minister of Security,  stated that it is true that the uniformed man was separated from his position while an internal investigation is being carried out by the entity and also the Public Ministry opened an investigation.

Pino confirmed that the facts were recorded and that two of the six cadets were already released from hospitalization this Wednesday, two are leaving today and the other four are pending. They were diagnosed days ago with rhabdomyolysis.

Senan must clarify the situation and give a detailed report of what happened, later the measures will be taken and if there is a very serious irregularity, then the appropriate measure will be taken. “Everyone knows how I am about that,” Pino said.
