Coming Really Soon

We thank you so much for your participation in NewsroomPanama.com by reading our daily newspaper and sending us suggestions at our current email address at PanamaNewsroom@gmail.com   For history buffs, Newsroom Panama produced its first online publication in September of 2009.  An English paper in Panama was being printed prior to that for two years in the Panama Star better known to most people now in Panama as ‘La Estrella’.  Many people didn’t know that La Estrella, was the oldest printed newspaper in Panama with its first printed edition in 1849, Saturday February 24.  Below is a headline page.  

The reason that we are discussing this under the heading of “Coming Soon” is the fact that the website will be updated in the next while with some changes as the News App currently being used is controlled by ‘DOS‘ functions, very old-school, so it needs to be updated.  That update will be “Coming Soon”.  Just so you know.  We hope that you will like the updated News App as we will be able to add more functions to it from time to time.  It is going to look a little different, and we hope better, but it will be a learning experience for all of us as we experiment with new features and new ideas.  Years gone by, NewsroomPanama.com was only viewed on computers and it was designed for that.  Nowadays a great number of readers read our stories from their cellular phones, so we are are aiming at both audiences when it comes to the content that we provide. Below are a few tips that we have spoken about previously. 

To avoid the possibility of missing Newsroom Panama stories, or getting them a day later than we create them, I recommend that you place a Newsroom Panama icon, button or URL on your computer’s home screen, or as an icon on your Smartphone.  The stories that you are reading now, were most likely created yesterday, such as the birthday of the Panama Canal and Panama City, both being on August 15th.  To find us on the internet, we are https://www.NewsroomPanama.com
