Vice-president and Ministers get AstraZeneca vaccine
Cars were lined up on Thursday at the Rommel Fernández Stadium for the 7:00 am start of the AstraZeneca / University of Oxford vaccination process against Cov id-19.
The first person to be inoculated was vice-president José Gabriel Carrizo.
He arrived at the auto-express accompanied by Juan Pascale, director of the Gorgas Memorial Institute for Health Studies, and Eyra Ruiz, Minister Counselor for matters related to public health.
Health authorities have recognized that there is a lot of interest in the country in the AstraZeneca / University of Oxford Covid-19 vaccine. The maximum registrations had already been reached two days prior.
The first batch of 36,000 doses of the vaccine, through the Covax mechanism of the World Health Organization, arrived in the country on April 16.
Health Minister Luis Francisco Sucre – who also attended the start of the vaccination day said that on Wednesday, a note was sent to accept some 70,000 additional doses, which will arrive between three weeks and a month.

Among the first was Rafael Sabonge, Minister of Public Works. Ramón Martínez, Minister of Commerce and Industries, Carlos Aguilar, Minister of Culture; José Alejandro Rojas, Minister Counselor for private investment; as well as the Vice of Agricultural Affairs, Carlos Rognoni.
Also in attendance were Bernardo Meneses, director of the Institute for the Training and Use of Human Resources; Juan Antonio Ducruet, director of the Idaan; and Armando Fuentes, director of the Public Services Authority.
