Health Ministry bans chemical sprays used against COVID-19
The use of a host of chemical substances for spraying against COVID-19 was banned by the Ministry of Health (Minsa) on Sunday, May 3.
Among those suspended for use in public or private institutions are: quaternary ammonium,. , hypochlorite, stabilized chlorine dioxide, glutaraldehyde, ionic copper, and others, which can cause skin damage.
According to the Minsa, these substances can also cause damage to the eyes and the respiratory system if they are ingested, inhaled or if you have contact with them.
Organizations such as the WHO and the Pan American Health Organization agree that there is no approval for the use of these technologies with chemical substances, which are currently intended for decontamination and disinfection of porous or non-porous hard surfaces due to the Covid-19. pandemic
The Minsa reminds citizens that any measure that involves the health of the population must be previously consulted with them.
