Congos and Devils in Portobelo

Panama’s international award-winning Aphrodisiaco  group heads up over 500 performers in the eight-hour-long Portobelo  Festival of Congos and Devils on  Saturday, April 27.

The 11th edition of the festival It will be its first since the recognition of the ritual and festive expressions of the conga culture as Cultural Patrimony of Humanity by (Unesco) in   November 2018.

The festival runs from noon to 8 pm and includes  It includes artisanal and gastronomic fairs and the dances and music of the congos and devils.

After the opening  presentation  congos and devils and groups from across the country will perform until will  perform on the stage  in  the  town park IThe  biennial Festival  was born in 1998, and is organized by   the Portobelo Foundation,  in conjunction with the Historical Cultural Group of Portobelo,  the Tourism Authority and the National Institute of Culture (INAC).
