Panama Olympic hope wins Diamond League 200m

 PANAMA sprinter Alonso Edward scored his first Diamond League Athletics victory of the season on  Sunday May 22, in Rabat, Morocco, where he surpassed the 200 meters record for the Rabat track.

Showing speed and strength to 100 meters from the finish, Panama’s Olympic medal hope closed calmly in the final stages calmly to record a time of 20.07 seconds.

The time  surpassed the record of the track, which was 20.16, held by Femi Ogunode, set in June 2014.

Second place went to Wilfried Koffi, Ivory Coast, who recorded 20.35 seconds. Bruno Horterland-Roig, Spain, was third with 20.36.

Rabat was the third stop of the Diamond League the second for the specialty of the 200 meter dash

On May 6, Edward, was in second place in Doha with  a time of 20.06 seconds, surpassed by American. Amerr  Webb, who stopped the clock at 19.85 seconds.

Edward is the defending Diamond league 200 meters  champion (two consecutive years) He currently leads with 16 points, Webb has 10.
