2 dead 3 badly hurt in weekend traffic incidents
A HEAD-ON COLLISION on the Corridor Norte near the Tinajitas toll on Saturday May 2 killed the driver of one vehicle and sent three people in the other car to Santo Tomas Hospital with severe injuries.
The car in which they were traveling was hit by a Toyota Yaris, which spun out of control and ended up facing oncoming traffic according to reports from the Directorate of Traffic Operations.
Two of the injured were well known local soccer players Reggie Arosemena, of the Alliance FC and Junior Torres, Chorrillo FC.
The driver of the Yaris died on the spot.
A 21- year old pedestrian returning from work was hit by a car and killed while crossing the Trans-America highway in Veraguas on the first day of the long weekend. Reports El Siglo.
