Documents found in house search impact on spying case

DOCUMENTS found at the residence of Gustavo Pérez are being analyzed as part of the investigation into alleged illegal surveillance that took place during the administration of Ricardo Martinelli (2009-2014)..

The documents, found during a search, direct impact on the case, judicial sources told La Prensa. the documents were being analyzed on Friday,. January 23 by prosecutors and lawyers for Pérez, one of two former executive directors of the National Security Council charged in the case. The otheer is Alejandro  Garuz.

Both are  being held at La Gran Joya Prison  in Pacora.

Prosecutors have said there were at least 150 victims of illegal surveillance, including judges opposition politicians, journalists, business owners and union leaders and even members of Martinelli’s cabinet.
