Panama police to get S. Korea, US training
SOUTH KOREAN police officials will train Panama police, starting later this year. Police in also train police in Belize, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic all members of the Central American Integration System (SICA).
A memorandum of understanding was signed Friday October 10 in El Salvador by SICA and South Korea’sAgency of International Cooperation.
The agreement includes the training of 20 Panama police officers a year for three years, said Victoria de Avilés, SICA secretary general.
Panama police will also be trained by 13 officials from the United States, according to a recent agreement signed with anti-drug officials.
