Popular party gains second post in new government

A SECOND Popular Party(PP) leader has been named by president-elect, Juan Carlos Varela to be sworn in as part of the new administration.

Partido Popular leader and former candidate for deputy in the 8-7 circuit, Carlos Rubio, will be deputy director of the Institute for Training and Human Resources (Ifarhu).

Rubio said the appointment was due to the support he was able to muster for Varela through the youth wing of the PP.
He also said that he is proud to work for Ifarhu because it is an institution that helps Panamanians achieve a quality education.
Rubio will serve under Yesenia Rodríguez, who was appointed by Varela as director of the agency last week.
Rubio is the second PP member to be appointed to a position within the next government, joining PP President Milton Henríquez, who was named the Minister of Government.
