Surveillance cameras for 120 Metro Buses

SURVEILLANCE cameras will be installed in 120 Metro buses, 10% of the fleet, in mid February next year.

Miguel Cardona , manager of the MI Bus Company responsible for the operation of the Metro Bus system, says that the cameras  will enable the company to monitor the flow of users and the behavior of the operators."The main reason is to make plans for improvement ," he said.

David Ramirez president of the October 23 Public Transport Users Movement, said that these technological resources are needed and used in first world countries.

Ramirez added that the system will  also provide evidence in traffic accidents when a Metro Bus is involved.
Mi Bus has also announced the upcoming installation of GPS in 200 buses.
