Spanish Senate leader to meet with Varela

Among the Panamanian “leaders” the president of the Spanish Senate, Pio Garcia-Escudero will meet next week will be Vice-President  and former Foreign Minister Juan Carlos Varela.

García-Escudero is visiting Panama and Colombia  to  prepare the leaders of both countries for the Ibero-American Summit in Cadiz in November and  an advance  Parliamentary Forum in Bpgota  says an EFE News Agency  message.

He will  meet with Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos after meeting with  the President sof the Colombian Senate, Roy Barreras, and House of Representatives leader Augusto Posada. 

García-Escudero will arrive in  Panama on Thursday to  meet first with the Foreign Minister. And on the same day, he will meet with Varela, at the Spanish embassy.

In the evening he will attend a dinner hosted by  the President of the National Assembly.
