446 dengue cases in Panama

Another 58  suspected cases of dengue and the investigation of two new deaths have been reported by the Ministry of Health.

The total of  cases has now reached 446, of which 58 are  hemorrhagic(bleeding). 

The two deaths were in Bocas del Toro  and Herera.

Minister of Health FrankLin Vegara  said that if people removed from their homes  containers that can host Aedes aegypti  larvae which transmits dengue, 90% of the disease would be controlled.  

Since dengue  was first detected  in Panama in 1993,  there have been 40 000, case  99 hemorrhagic,  which resulted in  14 deaths, says the MoH.
