Parque Omar construction upsets residents
The construction of a building in the vicinity of Parque Omar in San Francisco has generated concern among area residents.
The developer of the Omar Park View project has been accused of encroaching on the park and failing to take measures to create separation between the park and the work.
The project consists of two, 23-story apartments on a lot of 1,400 square meters. The works are conducted by Constructora Rami, S.A. and Constructores R & R.
Víctor Johnson, who has lived in the area for more than 60 years, said that the lot of located within the confines of the park. Fellow resident Marine Decas also said it is clear that the project has encroached on the park reports La Prensa
“I see that the limit of the land has changed, and it has changed from a year ago,” Decas said.
Other residents have said the developer has failed to erect a retaining wall to protect the back of the park and nearby houses and apartments from the construction.
The developer has responded that it has owned the lots for more than 30 years and that it is in compliance with all existing regulations. It said the retaining wall will be installed once the foundation is finished.
