The Panamanian team won an epic 2-1 victory against the host United States in a vibrant match corresponding to the group stage of the Copa América 2024.  The match, played at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, was marked by emotion and moments of tension from the opening whistle. The home team came out determined to take control of the game and, in the 22nd minute, Brenden Aaronson set up Cameron Balogun to finish with a powerful shot and put the United States ahead.

However, the Panamanian response did not take long to arrive. Just four minutes after the American goal, Adalberto Blackman took advantage of a rebound in the area to tie the score with an accurate left footed shot.  The match became a constant back-and-forth affair, with both teams looking for the winning goal. The intensity of the game was heightened by the immediate expulsion of Timothy Weah for the United States, leaving the home team with one less player.
